Door-To-Door with 180

The first 50,000 copies of our new documentary "180" arrived at Living Waters yesterday afternoon. Ray and I were like little kids converging on the tree, on Christmas morning.

As soon as the boxes were off the truck, Ray grabbed a box and headed to his neighborhood to distribute 100 of the DVDs to his neighbors. Like Ray, door-to-door evangelism is not my preference or my strong suit. But I couldn't wait to take some DVDs home with me to distribute to my neighbors.

So, after dinner, sporting the latest in "180" apparel, Mahria and I went door-to-door through our condo community.

Jason was one of our first neighbors to receive "180."

Mahria and I, with the help of Amanda (who kept track of of which homes received DVDs), made contact with 34 of our neighbors--most of whom we had never met. We have another 200+ condos to cover, before the project is complete.

Here's what I said when someone answered the door.
"Hi. My name is Tony, and this is my wife, Mahria. We live, here, in the community. We're not here to sell you anything. I serve with an organization that has produced a new documentary (handing them the documentary and my business card); and we're giving a free copy to all of our neighbors. My email address is on my card. If you would like to share your thoughts after you've watched the documentary, I would love to hear from you."
Several times I was asked, "What is the documentary about?" My response:
"The documentary compares two holocausts--the holocaust of World War II and a holocaust that is taking place today."
I was actually surprised how easy it was to put the documentary into the hands of my neighbors. Not one person refused to take the DVD. I can't wait to get home, today, and continue bringing this vitally important documentary and the power of the gospel to my neighbors.

Won't you join us in the effort? Yes, door-to-door evangelism isn't easy for most Christians. It's a challenge for me, and it's even more challenging for my quiet and shy wife. But certainly saving the lives of the unborn and offering our neighbors the life-giving, life-saving message of the gospel is important enough to overcome our fears.

Order enough copies of 180, today, to canvas your neighborhood! And let me know how it goes.
