Neglected prisoner gets $15.5 million after serving 22 months in solitary
LWU “I don’t believe in Heaven or Hell.”
(Email) “Anyway! I just found the web series, and it brings me such joy to watch you guys at work. My question may not be thought provoking, but I’d love to hear back from Ray Comfort. I’m a fairly introverted sixteen year old, who fumbles her words together. I don’t think I have the confidence to go out and street-preach as you all do. I’ve seen plenty of your videos and learned the techniques, but I’m worried my brain will freeze. I’m not much of a debater, you could say. Regardless, my question is, how can I share my faith not only with people in general, but also my peers without turning them off. The teenage years are definitely tricky, and I haven’t mastered all the ways to get through it myself.”
- What will happen if you freeze up? What’s your worst case scenario? You may look a little silly. What’s theirs? Hell. Don’t let fear of what people will think of you hold you up, if that stops you its pride. It’s like learning to ride a bike, you may fall off a few times, perhaps feel a little silly, but in the long term God may use you to bring souls to Himself. Once you realize it’s not that big of a deal if you mess up or freeze up, it will free you to learn and grow and share. Let compassion swallow your fears.
- How do you avoid turning people off? Jesus said in John 15:20: “Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you.” Jesus promised believers will be persecuted. There is no way to avoid it. Just make sure that you’re being persecuted for the gospel and not by the way you communicate it. It’d be a great idea to learn 2 Timothy 2:22-26:
“But avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate strife. And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.”
- Learn WWJD. It’s a simple technique that you can use to share the gospel. It frees up your mind to know exactly where you’re going. We taught in an episode from Season 1 of our show called, “WDJD”. You can watch it free online at www.WayoftheMaster.com
- Memorize reasonable answers. In reality there are only about 10 main questions people ask. Things like why is there suffering, who made God, etc. Learn the answers to them. When you get stumped just tell them you don’t know and offer to get back to them (just snag their email).
