Words of Comfort: Megaphone

Twice a week I take my dog for a run along-side my bike. Despite my continual warning, he would run ahead on the leash and be in danger of being run over by the bike. One day that happened. He yelped in pain, and since then I haven’t had to tell him to back up. Words are often unheard, but pain speaks volumes. Pain in this life is a warning of greater pain in the next. A morally perfect God means what He says about punishing evil. The wise will listen, be humbled, and back up. C.S. Lewis said, "God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks to us in our conscience, but shouts in our pains: It is His megaphone to rouse a deaf world.”
