Words of Comfort: Hawks and Electricity.

When a hawk is around, other birds hide for fear of their lives leaving an eerie silence in the trees. They instinctively know their enemy. It seems that a bird brain works better than a human brain, because most human beings don’t see death as their enemy. They think that it’s just part of life. But around death, the ungodly have an eerie silence. They don’t fight it. They roll over and get ready to die. Riding high in April, shot down in May. That’s life. But the Bible speaks of death as an enemy, saying that Jesus Christ has “abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.” Of course, many don’t believe that, and that’s their problem. They refuse to trust the Word of God, and yet trust is the basis for any relationship, both horizontal and vertical.

An atheist is like a man who shuts off the main electric source before he walks into an electrical store, and mocks the fact that the appliances don't work. Remove the supernatural from the Bible and nothing makes sense, because you have removed the power of God. Leave Him in the equation and animals fit comfortably onto the ark, the Red Sea opens without any problem, the 5,000 get well fed, water gets walked upon, and stopping a storm with “Peace be still” is a breeze.
