Words of Comfort: Prayer & wars.

"How long a war is going to last is up to the humans in charge. It is up to their free will. It is not up to God. So why pray to God to end the war when it's outside of God's control? I don't understand it." Henrik Buus Jensen

It's interesting that you maintain that you don't understand prayer, and at the same time you maintain that you "know" that the length of time that a war lasts is not up to God. The Bible says differently: "For of Him, and through Him, and to Him are all things." Note the word "all." You don't take a breath without the permissive will of God, and the influence of Him giving you lungs and providing the right mixture of air. There isn't a thought that enters your God-given atheist brain that isn't seen by God, and yet this omnipotent, omnipresent Creator condescends to allow us to humbly petition Him to sometimes influence the divine will.
