Words of Comfort: From Ray's FB Page.

An atheist in welcoming another atheist to this page said, "Seth welcome. I would add to the rules: never discuss Ray's ministry with regards to money and never criticize the ministry or Kirk Cameron. Go super light on expletives and never use phrases such as My Dog (I didn't type the actual words because I would get banned) or anything remotely blasphemous. If your arguments are very strong you may randomly be banned if you're on the atheist side."

You are very close to being banned yourself for that last remark. This is because you are misrepresenting the reasons for which people are banned. No atheist ever has even slightly "strong" arguments, so you can discuss any arguments you wish for your beliefs without a fear of hitting the atheist graveyard (which has well over 3,000 souls).

One other thing. If you go "super light" on expletives you will be banned for using expletives. That includes abbreviations such as “BS” and others.

Words of Comfort: Gods love me.

How do I know that God loves me? Is it because He fashioned my eyes with 137,000,000 light sensitive cells so that I could see color and beauty? Or because He gave us amazingly intricate ears to enjoy good music, or an unspeakably sophisticated brain to process information?

While I appreciate these as gifts from God, any one of them could be taken from me in a moment of time by a car accident or a stroke or aneurism. If I believed that they were the only tokens of His love, I would then think He no longer loved me.

Rather, I look to the cross. It stands forever as evidence of His amazing love: “ But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).

Words of Comfort: Other gods.

"When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours." Lou Spowles

We dismiss all other god's because the Creator of the Universe stated as the First of the Ten Commandments "You shall have no other gods before Me." We don't dismiss gods because they don't exist, but because they do. Man has always had a propensity to create false gods, “gods” shaped in his mind by the image of what he thinks God is like, something the Bible calls “idolatry.” So you would be wise to re-think the reason for your sweeping dismissal, and to consider your eternal salvation, before death seizes you and seals your fate forever.

Words of Comfort: Foolish things.

Don’t you love movies where the nasty bully gets his face pushed in the mud and the bullied kid becomes the hero? But have you noticed that that rarely happens in real life…or does it?

Years ago, I told 100 kids to line up for candy. As I looked at the line I noticed that it was a line of greed. The greedy brats were at the front, and the quiet sickly and humble kids had been pushed to the back. So I took great delight in turning the line around 180 degrees and going to the quiet sickly kids first, much to the disgust of the greedy brats at the back.

In this world where the arrogant and rich get richer and the humble and the poor get stomped on, God has turned the line around. The Bible says that He trapped the greedy brats in their “own craftiness.”  He did this by choosing “foolish things to confound the wise.”

To show how He did it, let me ask you some questions. Do you believe that God made Adam and Eve? Do you believe that Noah built an ark? How about the story of Moses opening the Red Sea? What about Jonah and the whale and 101 other Bible stories, most of which are harder to swallow than a whale? If you have any intellectual dignity you would never stoop to believe such foolishness…because it is beneath you. Such is the wisdom of God. Your condescending pride automatically pushes you to the back of the line. Jesus said “I think you O Father that you have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and revealed them to babes."

He said that unless you become as a little child, you will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven. In other words, God has made the door of everlasting life very low. He’s turned the line around by choosing what the Bible calls "foolish things to confound the wise." He caused such foolish-sounding things to happen that only the humble would believe.

Now watch arrogant and condescending comments by proud God-haters to see the wonderful wisdom of God in doing this.

Words of Comfort: What about those who never heard?

"What happens to those who never get a chance to hear the Gospel and die before they do get a chance?"

No one will go to Hell because they haven't heard of Jesus. They will be condemned for murder, rape, adultery, fornication, lying, stealing, etc. Put your concern for others to hear the gospel aside for the moment. If you died right now you will justly end up in Hell. Get right with God and become a missionary, if you really care about the lost.

Words of Comfort: Predators.

Why do animals kill each other? The Bible tells us. Why is there aging in human beings and in all of Nature? The Bible tells us. Why do women have pain in childbirth? Why is there so much evil? The Bible tells us. Why do people use the name of a Jesus as a cuss word? Why is there so much suffering and sickness through this world? Why do all human beings die? What's the purpose of human existence? Where is God? What happens after death? Why do so many people hate the Bible?  How can I find everlasting life? The Bible tells us all things, and so much more. Ignore it, mock it, twist its words if you will. But doing so will be at your own peril.

Instead, open its divine pages and begin reading the Gospel of John with a humble and thoughtful attitude. If you do that you will find that there is nothing on this earth like it. This is because it's about the only begotten Son of the Living God. It is about the Creator who clothed Himself in human flesh to destroy the power of the grave for dying humanity. May God open your eyes, as He did mine and the blind eyes millions of others.

Words of Comfort: Free online!

“I read your book, "God Has A Wonderful Plan For Your Life--the myth of the modern message" several months ago. I began to read it and I found that I could hardly put it down...the fear of my eternal life was stuck in front of me. Ray I am 6'5" and 300 lbs. I am a police officer--a manly man who had little fear of anything. BUT I KNOW NOW WHAT FEARING THE FATHER'S WRATH MEANS NOW! ...So, I was driving home from work. I couldn't keep from shaking. I pulled into the drive and lay across the steering wheel and wept like I have never before. I told God I was wrong, for thinking I had truly been converted to Christianity. I begged Jesus to save me from having to pay for the price of my sins….” Joseph B.

Words of Comfort: Inside story.

"Try to comprehend this. Really, really try. We don't believe in god. We cannot be angry at something we don't believe in. Christians here who purport the same presuppositions innumerable times each day only demonstrate their inability to process information. This lack of comprehension is evident in all of you and it is nothing to aspire to. A good start for you might be to follow someone other than Ray Comfort as he is not a smart person at all." Ray Cameron

We have the inside story on you and on every other atheist. Your pretense of not believing in God, is rooted in your utter contempt for Him--all because He demands moral accountability. He will hold you accountable for every secret sin, right down to your imagination...and your "unbelief" won't change a thing.

Words of Comfort: Peds.

As happened with homosexuals 30 years ago, pedophiles have been officially classified as a "sexual orientation."1.  So it's just a matter of time (and a media push for tolerance and understanding) until Peds will be accepted as normal people, be allowed to marry, and be allowed to do what they want to kids as long as the child isn't harmed (whatever that means).

If the pedophile moves next door and you say anything against him, it will be considered narrow-minded hate speech. This has to come about because it is the predictable regression of any society that forsakes the moral absolutes of God's Law, the First of which is to honor God in all of our ways as a nation. When the Ten Commandments are removed, anything becomes morally acceptable if society deems it to be okay. It happened with the killing of children in the womb. It happened with homosexuality. And it will happen with pedophiles because "they are born that way. They can't help it. It's neither a sickness nor a sin."

Words of Comfort: Religion is utterly hopeless,

“…every other religion gives its adherents hope; that's kind of the point of religion.” Frodo Underhill

Your statement shows that you neither know what Christianity delivers or what "religion" offers.

Religion says that if you are good enough and do enough, you may bribe God enough to give you everlasting life. It is hopeless because it can’t deliver its hope. God will not pervert justice by allowing Himself to be bribed. In fact His Word warns “The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to God.” Try and bribe an earthly judge and you will find yourself under the wrath of criminal law. Religious works simply stir more wrath from God for our sin.

Christianity is different. It says that although the Judge is wrath-filled against all wickedness, He is rich in mercy and has provided a Savior. Jesus took the wrath of God’s Justice upon Himself—taking the punishment for our sins. Through His death and resurrection, God can now freely forgive our sins and let us live. He grants us the "gift" of eternal life (see Romans 6:23). We don’t have to strive to earn God’s favor. It’s freely given to us because He is good and kind.

So religion is utterly hopeless, while Christianity delivers eternal salvation from death and Hell to all who repent and trust alone in Jesus.

Words of Comfort: Scientific impossibility.

"How would you like to be able to make an atheist [me] backslide -- in two minutes?  You got 2 minutes. No takers? Let’s see. I'll start asking then. First, disprove the theory and law of evolution. That may take a while. Second, prove the earth is only 6000 years old. Third, why are you wearing a mixed fabric shirt, yet hating on gay marriage?” Broc Page

You have the wrong approach, if you want to see an atheist come to Christ. That’s what an atheist would like you to say, because he can have you running down rabbit trails. Instead ask, "So you believe that nothing created everything--a scientific impossibility?" Then watch him squirm and become an agnostic (he will more than likely concede that "something" created everything, but it wasn’t God), or he will say that nothing is actually something.

Words of Comfort: Prayer & wars.

"How long a war is going to last is up to the humans in charge. It is up to their free will. It is not up to God. So why pray to God to end the war when it's outside of God's control? I don't understand it." Henrik Buus Jensen

It's interesting that you maintain that you don't understand prayer, and at the same time you maintain that you "know" that the length of time that a war lasts is not up to God. The Bible says differently: "For of Him, and through Him, and to Him are all things." Note the word "all." You don't take a breath without the permissive will of God, and the influence of Him giving you lungs and providing the right mixture of air. There isn't a thought that enters your God-given atheist brain that isn't seen by God, and yet this omnipotent, omnipresent Creator condescends to allow us to humbly petition Him to sometimes influence the divine will.

Words of Comfort: Relevant today.

"Since you change your mind about whether the Ten Commandments apply to you on a weekly basis, does that mean your god changes his mind too, or do you just make this twaddle up as you go along?" Nick Lyon

The Ten Commandments are extremely relevant to the Christian. However, the moral Law's primary purpose is to show us that we have sinned against God. It's like a mirror. It reveals to you that you are dirty and need to wash. It can't cleanse you, but it can show you the truth, if you are prepared to look into it.

The Ten Commandments show us that we are morally unclean in God's sight, and that we need His cleansing mercy. When we are saved from death and Hell (born again), we no longer lie, steal, lust, hate, blaspheme, etc., not because we want to earn eternal life, but because we are grateful to God for already giving us everlasting life.

Words of Comfort: Case closed.

If you want to present evidence to a skeptic that the Bible is real, you will probably have to give evidence that Adam existed, that Eve was made from his rib, that she was spoken to by a serpent, that Noah built an ark, that God flooded the whole earth, that Moses opened the Red Sea, that Jonah was swallowed by a whale…and 101 other Bible stories that are so strange-sounding they are harder to swallow than Jonah’s whale.

Then again, it would be so much easier if you share the biblical gospel—that God is perfectly holy, that we have violated the Ten Commandments, that Hell is our destiny, and that God is rich in mercy. When any person understands the cross, truly repents of his sins and trusts alone in Jesus, he comes to KNOW the Creator. Personally. God supernaturally forgives his sins and miraculously opens the eyes of his understanding to the inspiration of the Word of God. He believes the Bible. Case closed.

Words of Comfort: The list.

See if you can spot yourself in this list: "Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators (those who have had sex outside of marriage), nor idolaters (those who have an unbiblical image of God), nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers (those who verbally attack the Christian faith), nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God." I Corinthians 6:9, 10

But look at the following verse as scripture addresses Christians:  “And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God” (1 Corinthians 6:11). You can (as we have) be forgiven in an instant and be assured beyond measure that you will (because of God’s mercy) inherit the Kingdom of God. See www.needGod.com for details.

Words of Comfort: DUI.

If you are ever pulled over by a traffic officer for DUI and dangerous driving, try saying this to the officer: "I don't see any evidence that a judge is real, nor do I believe the law exists. Besides, I'm a really good driver."

Let us know how you do.

Words of Comfort: Signs of the End of Age.

Do you know the biblical signs of the 2nd Coming of Christ—“the end of the age”?

1. Money hungry Bible teachers (2 Peter 2:1-3)
2. Earthquakes (Matthew 24:7)
3. The moon becoming blood red (Joel 2:31, Acts 2:20)
4. Wars (Matthew 24:6)
5. Forsaking of the Ten Commandments (Matthew 24:12)
6. A cold religious system (2 Timothy 3:5)
7. Fantasy in place of Christian truth (2 Timothy 4:4--Watch www.evolutionVsGod.com )
8. Deadly diseases (Matthew 24:7)
9. Denial of a worldwide flood (2 Peter 3:5-6)
10. Marriage forsaken (1 Timothy 4:3)
11. Famines (Matthew 24:7)
12. Increase in vegetarianism (1 Timothy 4:3-4)
13. Knowledge increase (Daniel 12:4)
14. Cults/false teachers (Matthew 24:11 & 24)
15. Fear of the future (Luke 21:26)
16. Materialism (2 Timothy 3:4)
17. Increase in travel (Daniel 12:4)
18. Christians would be hated (Matthew 24:9)
19. Men would become rebellious, selfish, greedy, blasphemous, and unthankful (2 Tim. 3:2)
20. Jerusalem would cause political problems (Zechariah 12:3)
21. Mockers (motived by the sin of lust) would say these signs have always been (2 Peter 3:3-4).
22. But here’s the sign that gives us the time-frame: Jesus said that Jerusalem would be in non-Jewish hands “until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.” That happened in 1967. For the first time in 2,000 years the Jews obtained Jerusalem. The Bible is pin-point accurate.

The first time Jesus came, He came as the Lamb of God to suffer and die for the sins of the world. The second time He comes, He comes to bring Justice to an evil world. This is how the Bible puts it “…when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels,  in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, when He comes, in that Day, to be glorified in His saints and to be admired among all those who believe, because our testimony among you was believed” (2 Thessalonians 1:7-10). Words of Comfort: J.I. Simonson

A traveling evangelist from a popular evangelistic association was found dead, after he hanged himself. The respected preacher, who was responsible for the organization's financial accounts, was overcome with remorse after a personal financial deal turned sour. Following his death, it was revealed by his superior that he had been stealing from the company's assets. Do you know the name of this well-known preacher? Nowadays he might be known as J. I. Simonson, more commonly known to most of us as Judas Iscariot, son of Simon

Words of Comfort: Darkened understanding.

"Ray, no one is actually conscious of the presence of any god. You have deluded yourselves into believing something that is unsupported by anything but the Bible, which cannot be trusted to be true, which means it is most likely false." Seth Wood

You are like a man who was born blind, telling millions of people who can see that their experience isn't valid. To him the thought that light and color exist, is ridiculous. All you are doing is confirming what the Bible says about you. Your understanding is darkened because you are alienated from the life of God through ignorance that is in you, because of the blindness of your heart (see Ephesians 2:18-20).

Words of Comfort: Ten trillion.

"Ray the human body is composed of ten trillion (10,000,000,000,000) atoms that formed in the death throws of exploding stars that flew across the cosmos and momentarily came together to be us." Dylan Barrow III

How fortunate that the same explosions formed in the death throes of exploding stars that flew across the cosmos and also fell together to become elephants, horses, cats, cows, frogs, fish, whales, kangaroos, giraffes, kangaroos, ducks, dogs, pigs, and birds. The exploding stars produced 1.4 million different kinds of fish, birds, animals and insects, all fortunately having male and female (except for a few snails), and fortunately each with the ability to bring forth after its own kind. Atheism is an intellectual embarrassment, and evolution is a senseless fantasy believed by gullible people, who love their sins more than truth.

Words of Comfort: Paul Walker

Here’s what Beliefnet.org said about Paul Walker’s Christian faith:

“Long before The Fast and the Furious, Paul Walker starred in an episode of television’s Touched By An Angel. This role didn’t come as a surprise to any of his family, as Walker was raised Mormon and attended Christian schools throughout his life. He isn’t a Mormon though, he is a non-denominational Christian.”

The difference between Mormonism and Christianity is that Mormons not only believe that God lives on a distant planet, that He has many wives, that we will one day become like God, and many other unbiblical doctrines, but they also believe that you can “earn” your way to Heaven. That’s the big lie of religion.

The Bible makes it clear that no amount of being good, being religious, doing good works, fasting, sitting on hard pews, lying on beds of nails, facing a certain way when you pray, etc., will bribe the Judge of humanity to forgive sins. A judge who lets a criminal go because the criminal offers him money before the trial is not a good judge. God will not pervert justice because sinful men and women offer Him anything in the form of “works.” The only way to be saved and find everlasting life, is through God’s mercy.

Here’s how the Bible expresses this: “ For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9).

Here is the same verse for those of you who would like it from the original (and complex) Greek language:

“For it is by free grace (God’s unmerited favor) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ’s salvation) through [your] faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [of your own doing, it came not through your own striving], but it is the gift of God; Not because of works [not the fulfillment of the Law’s demands], lest any man should boast. [It is not the result of what anyone can possibly do, so no one can pride himself in it or take glory to himself.]” (Ephesians 2:8-9, Amplified Bible).

Words of Comfort: A word of advice...

"Ray Comfort is a piece of trash. He is a liar...these are evil times and Satan is seeking whom he may devour....people be wary of this false witness, Ray Comfort!!!" Ann Cox

Ann, nice to have you here. I checked your Facebook page. A word of advice. It's not wise (or prudent) to call the President the "a" word. I hope your day goes well.
