Words of Comfort: Twain understood.

“Most people are bothered by those passages of scripture they don’t understand, but for me I have always noticed that the passages that bother me are those I do understand.” - Mark Twain

Here’s one very bothersome passage: “You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.”

Words of Comfort: Einstein's example.

"As a child I received instruction both in the Bible and in the Talmud. I am a Jew, but I am enthralled by the luminous figure of the Nazarene... No one can read the Gospels without feeling the actual presence of Jesus. His personality pulsates in every word. No myth is filled with such life." - Albert Einstein

The problem with skeptics is that they haven't done what Einstein did. They have never objectively and humbly read the gospels and looked at the life and words of Jesus of Nazareth. Those who do study Him will find themselves in a dilemma. Here is a Man who lived and spoke as if He was God in human flesh. If He was, His words and warnings were true. If He wasn't who He said He was, then He was a liar like no other in history because He has deceived billions.  If you believe He was a liar you will have the dilemma of His lies being the antithesis of His teachings. Take the time to study the life of Jesus of Nazareth for yourself. Do it, if you dare. I suggest that you read the gospel of John.

Words of Comfort: Ten out of 10.

“Ray. I feel sorry for you that you think your God of infinite love and wisdom could be so narrow-minded as to condemn two consenting adults to death for getting married. Your God seems to mirror your beliefs so perfectly always. That's convenient.” Leonie Trent

Thank you for your sorrow. But I don't need it. You should rather have sorrow for yourself and others who are unsaved. God has condemned all of humanity to death and damnation (not just homosexuals). Perhaps you have noticed that ten out of ten die. But because He is rich in mercy
He will grant everlasting life to all who repent and trust alone in Jesus. See www.needGod.com for details.

Words of Comfort: Fool.

“Does it grieve you, my friends, that the name of God is being taken in vain and desecrated? Does it grieve you that we are living in a godless age? ...But, we are living in such an age and the main reason we should be praying about revival is that we are anxious to see God's name vindicated and His glory manifested. We should be anxious to see something happening that will arrest the nations, all the peoples, and cause them to stop and to think again.” - Martyn Lloyd-Jones

Those who love God know the grievous feeling of hearing continual mocking. While such grief is a reality, our trembling concern is for those doing the mocking because we know that “God is not mocked. For whatever a man sows, that will he also reap.” Fools who insist on throwing rocks at the sun will have their foolishness come back on their own heads. You can be sure of that.

Words of Comfort: Booth was right.

“The chief danger of the 20th Century will be religion without the Holy Ghost, Christianity without Christ, forgiveness without repentance, salvation without regeneration, politics without God, and Heaven without Hell.”  - William Booth (founder of the Salvation Army).

Booth's words spoken more than 100 years ago were certainly prophetic. We are now living in days when the pure gospel of everlasting life has degenerated into nothing more than a message of self-indulgence and life improvement. The result has been a Church filled with false converts, a corrupt political system, and a denial of the reality of Hell.

Words of Comfort: Knowledge of sin.

“Some people do not like to hear much of repentance; but I think it is so necessary that if I should die in the pulpit, I would desire to die preaching repentance, and if out of the pulpit I would desire to die practicing it.” Matthew Henry

The reason so many who camp here are so bitter against Christianity is that they heard a message that lacked a knowledge of sin (which comes by the moral Law), and therefore didn’t find a place of biblical repentance. Those who have the experience of a false conversion either remain among God’s people as “goats among the sheep,” or they fall away from the faith “and their latter end becomes worse than the first.” For a deeper understanding of this tragedy listen to “Hell’s Best Kept Secret” onwww.livingwaters.com

Words of Comfort: John Bunyan

“I never knew all there was in the Bible until I spent those years in jail. I was constantly finding new treasures.” John Bunyan

John Bunyan (1628 –1688) was an English Christian writer and preacher who is well-known for his classic book, The Pilgrim's Progress.  In 1660 he was imprisoned for 12 years for preaching the gospel, and it was in prison that he studied the Bible and wrote Pilgrim’s Progress. It is the world’s most famous allegory. Those of you who are skeptics will find yourself perfectly portrayed in the book in a wonderfully unique way. You can freely read it on line: http://pilgrim.martintw.com/  or watch it:

Words of Comfort: New Zealand Police.

Leonie Trent is a regular atheist who quoted me when I said, “Years ago, I told 100 kids to line up for candy. As I looked at the line I noticed that it was a line of greed. The greedy brats were at the front, and the quiet sickly and humble kids had been pushed to the back. So I took great delight in turning the line around 180 degrees and going to the quiet sickly kids first, much to the disgust of the greedy brats at the back.” Then she asked, “Did anyone call the police and did you tell the parents this?

That incident happened in New Zealand about 35 years ago, at a time when people trusted each other and sin (evil) wasn't so rampant. Those were the days when people respected the Ten Commandments and didn’t lie, live in hypocrisy, steal, hate, and murder—as they do now that the Commandments have been forsaken. When there is no Law there is lawlessness. If someone had called the police in those days, they would have probably come into the class to enjoy the fun and listen to the gospel.

Words of Comfort: Eternity.

“How long is eternity? Someday you theists will look back on your words and feel embarrassed.” Richard Notizia

Embarrassed? Never. The Bible says, “Whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall not be ashamed.” This short life is filled with pain, futility, aging, and then the surety of death—and with this life there is a little joy here and there. In reality, each of us isn’t searching for happiness; rather, we are fighting off unhappiness. We are constantly barraged with problems, sickness and pain. Dentists, doctors, lawyers, and undertaker’s have secure jobs in this life.

But as Christians, we have been given everlasting life, and we are eagerly waiting for God's Kingdom to come to this earth and for His will to be done on this earth as it is in Heaven. That means new bodies with no more futility, aging, tears, pain, suffering or death. God seals those that love Him with the Holy Spirit as a token of good faith. That’s how we can “know” we have everlasting life. When that day comes the Bible says that God will withdraw the dimension of a time, and we enter "eternity." I hope today you’ll join us.

Words of Comfort: Planet Earth.

“Hate to break it to you but you live on planet Earth. Planet Earth is your home.” Mark Howard

It’s not common knowledge that this planet is our home. We are going to inherit this earth. Jesus said, "Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth." We get it all, but with a huge difference. There will be no more Genesis curse. Everything you see--the beautiful blue ocean, the amazing trees with their incredible fruits, the massive variety of amazing animals, etc., are in a “fallen” state, under the curse of God being devoured by death and corruption. When the curse comes off, there will be no more death and disease. Those who trust in Christ will get new bodies that have no pain, don’t age and never die. It’s then that the lion will lie down with the lamb. How amazing life will be when God's Kingdom comes to this earth, when His will, will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. If you think our hope is that we will be ghostly spooks, playing rusty harps on clouds forever, you are deceived. Forget your preconceptions, and instead read and believe the "exceeding great and precious promises" of the Bible. It’s God’s Word and it will come to pass.

Words of Comfort: By Ronald Reagan

“Without God there is no virtue because there is no prompting of the conscience...without God there is a coarsening of the society; without God democracy will not and cannot long endure . . . If we ever forget that we are One Nation Under God, then we will be a nation gone under.” Ronald Reagan

Words of Comfort: “I don’t feel guilty.”

“I don’t feel guilty.”

People often don’t feel guilty when they sin because they have “seared” their conscience. They have removed the batteries from the smoke detector of their conscience, so that they can sin without interruption. The way to resurrect a deadened conscience is to go through each of the Ten Commandments, reminding the person that they know that it’s wrong to lie, steal, commit adultery, etc. Always preach the Law along with future punishment, then pray
that the Holy Spirit will come upon them and cause them to be convicted of sin, righteousness, and judgment to come.

Words of Comfort: By Matthew Henry

“As that which is straight discovers that which is crooked, so there is no way of coming to that knowledge of sin which is necessary to repentance, but by comparing our hearts and lives with the Law.

“Paul had a very quick and piercing judgment and yet never attained the right knowledge of indwelling sin till the Spirit by the Law made it known to him. Though brought up at the feet of Gamaliel, a doctor of the Law, though himself a strict observer of it, yet without the Law. He had the letter of the Law, but he had not the spiritual meaning of it—the shell, but not the kernel. He had the Law in his hand and in his head, but he had it not in his heart. But when the commandment came (not to his eyes only, but to his heart), sin revived, as the dust in a room rises when the sunshine is let into it. Paul then saw that in sin which he had never seen before—sin in its consequences, sin with death at the heels of it, sin and the curse entailed upon it. ‘The Spirit, by the commandment, convinced me that I was in a state of sin, and in a state of death because of sin.’ Of this excellent use is the Law; it is a lamp and a light; it opens the eyes, prepares the way of the Lord.” Matthew Henry

Words of Comfort: "F" word 110 times.

“I mock the Muslims too, I'm not scared of them like Christians are. I don't need to be.” Acacia Weir

The dialogue from a Johnny Depp movie uses the “F” word 110 times, and amidst the profanity are the words "Oh, Jesus," "Jesus Christ," "Jesus Christ," "For Christ's sake," "Jesus F*ing Christ," "Jesus Christ," "Jesus Christ," "Jesus Christ Almighty," "Jesus, God," "God, God, Jesus," "Jesus Christ," We are using a clip showing the blasphemy in our new Noah movie, and asking why it is that Hollywood never uses the name of “Mohammed” in the same way? The answer is obvious.
Acacia, I noticed that you hide your face in your profile picture and on your Facebook page. I wonder if you would be so foolish as to use the name of Mohammed in the way Hollywood use the Name of Jesus, along with your real name, address and photo.

Words of Comfort: Four.

"We don’t know how we came here, but let's study and try to find out and not to give a simple answer like 'God.’"

Atheists may not like God being the answer to that question. But that’s like saying, “We don't know what two plus two adds up to, so let's not give a simple answer like ‘four.’"

Words of Comfort: Bill Gates is not an atheist.

“The creator of the Internet, a homosexual, and Bill Gates, who gave away billions to help humanity, and the creator of FaceBook, and another atheists...are all going to Hell?”

Being rich or inventing something doesn’t mean that you get an automatic pass if you violate criminal law.  Anyone who has violated God’s Law (the Ten Commandments) will end up in Hell, irrespective of how rich they are or what they’ve invented. By the way, Bill Gates is not an atheist.

Words of Comfort: Galileo wasn't an atheist.

"Galileo was censured by the church, and he's far from the only example. When the church would claim dominion over that which rightfully belongs to science, then atheists have every right to be angry at it for preventing human advancement. Would we have ever landed on the moon if the church had kept convincing everyone the Earth was flat?”

Galileo wasn’t an atheist. When the Roman Catholic church confined him to house arrest he protested, “I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect has intended us to forgo their use.” Also, almost everyone (including scientists) believed that the earth was flat (except theist, Christopher Columbus and some others).  And don’t forget that the men who landed on the moon read Genesis chapter one from space, and just before the landing they took communion and thanked God for sending a Savior. The president of American Atheists, Inc., at the time tried to sue NASA for reading their reading of the Bible, but it was thrown out of court.

Words of Comfort: Good without god.

“My life is great. I'm good without god.”

All of us think we have our own definition of “good.” But “good” in God’s Book means moral perfection, in thought, word and in deed. That will be the standard of judgment on Judgment Day. If you think you have a great life, you will want to keep it and the only way to do that is through the new birth. Seewww.needGod.com for details.

Words of Comfort: Sick or well?

"Why did God create us sick then command us to be well?”

When God made Adam, everything was "very good" (see Genesis 1:31). There was no disease, pain, suffering and death. These miseries came when Adam sinned. God cursed the ground and gave Adam and his offspring the death sentence. The Bible says that we "die in Adam," but we can be "made alive in Christ" (see 1 Corinthians 15:22). You are free to ignore God's command to repent and trust in the Savior, but if you do, instead of receiving mercy, you will get Justice.

Words of Comfort: Happy homosexuals.

A homosexual couple in New Zealand who were recently joined in marriage told the media that they were very happy, and that there hadn’t been any “plagues” fall on them.  Silence doesn’t mean divine approval or non-existence. It is in keeping with the biblical revelation that when we sin against God He “stores” His wrath, waiting for us to partake in His mercy.

So don’t be deceived any further into thinking that God’s patience is endless. It’s not. He killed a man in Genesis 38 because He didn’t like what he did sexually.

Words of Comfort: God's justice.

“If we really were deceived or deluded, then God could not hold us responsible for it.” Richard McAtheist II

He does hold every one of us responsible.  This is because our ignorance is willful, and He warns that if you continue to choose ignorance, He will give you over to a “strong delusion,” and then to what the Bible calls a “reprobate” mind.

Words of Comfort: Biblical prophecy.

In reference to the biblical prophecy of the Jews obtaining Jerusalem, atheist, Raymond Bane, said, "Even the Jews have always lived in the land that is Israel and in Jerusalem. Incredibly unimpressive. Nostradamus was just as good. Or even your average pay per call telephone psychic."

The Jews were without a homeland until the formation of Israel in 1948, and then they took possession of Jerusalem in 1967.

I too was once impressed with Nostradamus, until I did research for a movie I produced called "The Secrets of Nostradamus Exposed" in which we prove that he stole his "prophecies" from the Bible (which he read in secret), and claimed them as his own. Anyone who is ignorant of Bible prophecy will be impressed with Nostradamus.

Words of Comfort: Happy 2014!

Paul Macock: “You can't prove Jesus even existed and so your biblical verses are null and void.”
My question: “Paul, what year is it?”
Paul Macock: “2013.”
My question: “2013 since Whom?”
Paul Macock: “And even if Jesus did exist (which I myself think he probably did), it doesn't mean he was the son (himself) of the creator of the whole universe.”

Jesus continually said He was the Creator in human form, so your dilemma is to either believe that He spoke the truth, was a liar, or He was deceived. This is what He said, “‘I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. But I said to you that you have seen Me and yet do not believe. All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out. For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day. And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.” (John 6:35-40).
