Words of Comfort: Calling the Easter Bunny.

“Hey Ray, Atheist Debunked by Adonai Elohim invoked your god to place ‘a curse’ on me and my family, like some kind of christian witch doctor. If that's not blatant blasphemy, wouldn't you at least consider that to be very unchristian of someone and ban them from your page? You banned someone yesterday for calling A god ‘it.’ Certainly invoking your god to curse someone is far more offensive.” James Westfall

To invoke a curse on someone isn’t a loving thing for a professing Christian to do, but that isn’t blasphemy. Blasphemy is to speak evil of, mock, or curse God, and in the Old Testament blasphemy was so serious it was punishable by death. The New Testament tells us that using God’s Name to cuss (Oh my G-D, etc.,) is just as serious as it is in the Old Testament, and will have terrifying consequences on the Day of Judgment. The Bible says, “Your enemies blaspheme your Name O Lord.”

A couple of other points about this “curse.” You are an atheist. So for you God doesn’t exist. There is no “curse” of which you should be concerned. It’s like me wanting someone banned because they called on the Easter Bunny to bite me.

The second point is that you are already under the Genesis curse. That's why in this life (try as you may) you are not going to avoid suffering and death. But while you won’t be able to avoid suffering in this life, you can avoid it in the next. If you are interested, see

Words of Comfort: Blind.

“Listening to relatives who have been deluded to think there is an afterlife is the hardest thing in the world. It's terribly embarrassing. They cry their heart out when you just won't accept their nonsense.” Bjarte Bjørkum

It is a wonderful truth of Scripture that the heart of the king is in the hand of the Lord. He turns it any way He wishes. The skeptic thinks he is at this site to harass Christians. That’s what he believes. In truth, he (or she) is here because of the faithful prayers of those who love them and want them to be saved from a very real Hell.

Those of you who think that you made your own decision to come here may be quick to say that none of your relatives are Christians, and that no one is praying for you. You are wrong. We pray, and that’s why you are here. The Bible says that you are blind, alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in you because of the blindness of your heart (see Ephesians 4:18-20). When you come to Christ and God opens your eyes, you will look back at your steps and see that is true. God, in His great kindness, brought you here.

Words of Comfort: Another name?

Name just one famous person in history-good or bad-whose name has been adopted as a cuss word: Napoleon, Shakespeare, Hitler, Mother Teresa, or perhaps Gandhi?

There's only One human being whose Name is used to express disgust. He is the One who said to love your enemies, to show kindness to those who despitefully use you, and to treat others as you would have them treat you. Why then is He despised? It's because He's also the One who maintained that God requires moral accountability. He warned, "The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify of it that its works are evil" (John 7:7).

Words of Comfort: Wet when it rains.

"Most atheists want proof of God. That should be real easy to do. Find the one true religion that has a lower rate of people getting cancer, and a higher percentage of those people surviving it. Or a group that shows a lower rate of divorce. That is just a couple of examples, you can use any death percentage or lower percentage of people committing any sin. Atheists prepare to find the truth. Christians I await your proof." Harold Buskirk

Your theology is bad. Christians get wet when it rains, they bruise when they fall, are killed in car accidents, and die of cancer. The difference between them and the "lost" is that God has granted them forgiveness of sins, and the gift of everlasting life. You will understand this completely on Judgment Day. I hope you are saved on that Day. Please see

Words of Comfort: Criminal's defence.

A criminal was once arrested for a hennas crime. Even though the evidence of his guilt was overwhelming, he wanted to defend himself rather than have faith in professionals. He decided to the following defense. 1. He had never seen the judge, so he concluded that he didn't exist. 2. The judge that he didn't believe existed, was immoral. 3. The law books were full of contradictions. 4. The criminal, despite his crimes and guilt, thought he was a good person.

How true are the words "He who defends himself in court has a fool for a client."

Words of Comfort: Amen.

"Do you know why you say amen? Do you know its origins? Or is it just a word you have been brain washed into repeating?" Billy Bragg

Often Christians simply comment "Amen," in answer to posts because the agree with what's been said. But it means more than "I agree." It says, "God is wonderful. I love Him with all of my heart and I want to affirm with every ounce of my being that what you have stated is the absolute truth." Atheists don't say "Amen" for obvious reasons.

Words of Comfort: Spurgeon on death.

"There is an essential difference between the decease of the godly and the death of the ungodly. Death comes to the ungodly man as a penal infliction, but to the righteous as a summons to his Father's palace. To the sinner it is an execution, to the saint an undressing from his sins and infirmities. Death to the wicked is the King of terrors. Death to the saint is the end of terrors, the commencement of glory." Charles Spurgeon

Words of Comfort: God's will.

"If sin disgusts [God] so much, why does He continue to allow it to exist? Isn't He omnipotent and isn't everything according to his will? And all those that supposedly go to Heaven will continue to sin if free will exists in Heaven?" Walder Frey

No, everything isn't according to His will. There are at least two "wills" of God. There is His perfect will, where there is no murder, rape, hatred, racism, lust, rebellion, jealousy, adultery, fornication, homosexuality, lying, stealing, blasphemy, etc.  God will have His perfect will when His Kingdom comes ("The Day of the Lord"), and His will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.

In the meanwhile, we have His permissive will, where He permits Nazi Germany, abortion, murder, rape, hatred, racism, lust, rebellion, jealousy, adultery, fornication, homosexuality, lying, stealing, blasphemy, etc.  Here is the reason He is permitting evil:

"But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up" (2 Peter 3:8-10).

In answer to your question about sin in Heaven-Scripture makes it clear that no sin will enter God's Kingdom. So you had better make sure your sins are forgiven. Those who die in their sins will be damned. You can be sure of that. If you would like to live forever, see

Words of Comfort: If God is knowable...

"If God is knowable, why doesn't everyone know the same God?" Kelvin Shmelvin

There is only one Creator, but man has a tendency to make up false gods to suit himself. That's why the First of the Ten Commandments says, "I am the Lord your God, you shall have no other gods before me." The Creator made Himself known to Moses when He gave Israel His Law, and He will now make Himself known to all who trust in the Savior He provided. Read the opening chapter of the Book of Hebrews (New Testament) for more details and then check out

Words of Comfort: Good deeds and Heaven.

"A Christian does a good deed so that he can get into Heaven. An atheist does a good deed." Donald Robson

The belief that anyone can do anything to get into Heaven is arguably the greatest of all errors. This mistake is made because of what the Bible calls a "lack of knowledge." Here's your missing knowledge. God is a judge. We are criminals in His eyes, and the best of us have violated His moral Law a multitude of times.  He considers lust to be adultery, hatred to be murder, sees our thought life and will even hold us accountable for "every idle word." This knowledge changes everything. So if we offer God anything (good deeds, religious works, etc.,) in an attempt to have Him dismiss our case, we are trying to bribe the Judge, This is what the Bible says of that: "The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord." God will not be bribed. The only thing that can save us from His perfect justice, is His mercy. When Jesus suffered on the cross He took the sin of the world upon Himself. He paid our fine so that our case could be dismissed. All we need to do to receive mercy from God is repent and trust alone in Jesus. For further details on how to receive God's gift of everlasting life, see

Words of Comfort: I believe I'm intelligent.

I believe the scientific impossibility that nothing created everything--giraffe's, horses, cats, cows, elephants and dogs, all with two eyes, two ears, heart, liver, kidneys and lungs, and having male and female. I believe I'm a primate, that I'm a fish, and I'm a cousin of bananas. I believe I'm intelligent.

I'm an atheist: "For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools..." (Romans 1:18-20).

Words of Comfort: A kind.

"Hey Ray, What is the creationist definition of "a kind"? And can you give a clear examples?"

The contention is that "kind" is now an outdated non-biological term. But that's not true:  A kind is "Race; genus; species; generic class; as in mankind or humankind." As I explained in there is the canine kind, the dog and the wolf. There is the feline kind, the cat and the tiger. And there is humankind or what is call Mankind. Believers in evolution can provide changes within species (adaptation) but they can't provide a lick of evidence for Darwinian evolution (as Dawkins likes to call it)--a change of kinds. Their co-called evidence doesn't exist. Darwinian evolution cannot be tested or observed. It rests on nothing but blind faith.

Words of Comfort: Tiny dot.

"But He has the power to complete erase Hell-- yet He doesn't. If I had the power to stop someone from being tortured, I would. That's the difference between me and your God."

The difference between you and God is that you are a very tiny dying dot (who is blind to the meaning of absolute Justice) in an infinite universe, and God is its eternal ever-present and holy Creator.

Words of Comfort: Poisonous version of theism.

"I am making my point because those like Ray Comfort are harming the world with their poisonous version of theism. Most theists are normal decent people and I do not care what they choose to believe as long as they do not harm others. Unfortunately Ray is causing harm and willfully so." Patricia Bentley-Ivens

It is people like you who are giving me a huge platform for my message. Atheists make video clips that rip into me-some of which have had hundreds of thousands of views (one has had over a million). So atheists converge onto this site, watch our movies--giving them millions of views, talk about them, interview me on their programs, and enlarge the reach of my message. You have been here for years keeping this page alive. Why don't you do what some sensible atheists strongly suggest--go away and leave me alone.  But you won't because this is your life.  Atheism is a dead and boring lifestyle. Atheist sites are bored atheists who talk with other bored atheists about what they don't believe in. This was summed up recently when I arrived to preach at Huntington Beach one Saturday. The leader of an atheist group who were protesting about God not existing, came over and said, "I'm pleased you are here. It's boring without you." Despite this, I'm pleased you are here, because my hope is that you will one day repent and trust in Jesus. Then you will have a reason to exist--to reach other Hell-bound sinners such as we once were, with the gospel of everlasting life.

Words of Comfort: Why would a perfect God make a Hell in the first place?

"Why would a perfect God make a Hell in the first place? Why are His creations imperfect unless He deliberately made them so? Why make rules that are pretty much impossible to live up to then punish the creations for being simply the way they were 'created'? If there is a God [He] is not the loving creator that most christians say they believe in, it is at best a tinkerer, a trickster and a child who breaks his toys when he does not get his own way."  Patricia Bentley-Ivens

If a dying patient turns off his own oxygen hose he shouldn't complain that he can't breathe. The Book of Genesis tells us that God made everything "very good" in the beginning, but sin brought about suffering, pain, disease and death in what is called a "fallen Creation." But the dying atheist denies that Genesis chapter one is true (that we live in a "fallen creation" because of sin), and so he bitterly complains about God allowing suffering, pain, disease and death. Hell is God's prison for guilty criminals. Calling Him childish names will not save you from His Justice, but repentance and faith in Jesus will. See

Words of Comfort: Is God doing everything He can to save us from Hell?

"Is God doing everything He can to save us from Hell? Or is He doing less than He could?" David Estes

A judge has no obligation to "do" anything to save a devious criminal from justice. The only responsibility he has is to see that justice is carried out to the full. However, the Bible says that mercy rejoices over judgment. In other words God is rich in mercy and offers us a complete trial dismissal, upon our repentance and faith in Jesus.

Words of Comfort: Podded pea.

Have you ever made the mistake of eating a meal when you are stressed? When the human nerves are as tight as piano wire it's not good to even eat a podded pea. If you do, your food will sit in your stomach like an indigestible rock for ages.

The Bible teaches that Christians live in the midst of a world that is an enemy of God, and that He has prepared a table for us in their contentious presence.  So we live among their warring against God and digest the Bread of Life, with  a peace that passes all understanding. Nothing can take that peace from us. We are no deterred, discouraged, distresses, distracted or deceived, because it is God Himself Who prepared the table: "You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies" (Psalm 23:5).

Words of Comfort: Idolatry.

Without the Law of God (the Ten Commandments) humanity predictably strays into "idolatry" (atheism is a form of idolatry). The First of the Ten Commandments addresses this with "I am The Lord your God. You shall have no other God's before Me." When Israel waited at the foot of Mount Sinai for Moses to receive that Law, like a car with a blowout of a front tire at 70 MPH, they veered off the right path into idolatry, and the immediate result was that they took their clothes off and partied. Thus we have Law-less modern America. They have lost sight of the moral Law, have predictably taken off their clothes and partied.  If we believe that there's no Law, then there's no morality.

However the Law was written in stone for a reason. It's permanent. It will be the unwavering standard of judgment on Judgment Day (see Romans 2:12, James 2:12) and will justly damn those who transgress its perfect precepts.

Words of Comfort: "Strong circumstantial evidence that there is no god..."

An atheist wrote: "Strong circumstantial evidence that there is no god. Number of god's creations who died horrible deaths from the following diseases: (or did they all die as martyrs?)

1. 300,000,000 approx. Smallpox
2. 200,000,000? Measles
3. 100,000,000 approx. Black Death
4. 80,000,000-250,000,000 Malaria
5. 50,000,000-100,000,000 Spanish Flu
6. 40,000,000-100,000,000 Plague of Justinian
7. 40,000,000-100,000,000 Tuberculosis
8. 30,000,000[13] AIDS pandemic
9. 12,000,000 ? Third Pandemic of Bubonic Plague
10. 5,000,000 Antonine Plague
11. 4,000,000 Asian Flu
12. 250,000 or more annually Seasonal influenza."

Ray replied: The number of people who are now living that will eventually die. Every one of the seven billion. That's more than strong circumstantial evidence that God means what He says is His Word: "The souls that sins, it shall die," "It is appointed to man once to die. After this, the Judgment." Pain, suffering, disease and death are stark proofs that the Bible is the Word of God when it says we live in a "fallen" creation.

Words of Comfort: Atheistic communism.

"Christians make up the majority of prisons while atheists only cover about 0.2% of the entire prison population."

When prisoners are enlisted they are no doubt told to give their religious affiliation--whether they are Jewish, Moslem, Christian, Hindu, etc. This is because it's not a good idea to put a Moslem and a Jew in the same cell. No doubt few list their religious affiliation as being "atheist" because there are so few atheists, as we are so often reminded by atheists, they believe that atheism is not a belief. So, in America, most people who have some sort of belief in God would check "Christian" because we are known as "Christian" nation rather than Moslem, Hindu or Jewish nation.

Those atheists who keep parading this "statistic" in an effort to prove that atheists live on a higher moral ground that others, need only look at the 110,000,000 human beings who have been slaughtered under atheistic communism to bring them back to reality.
