Words of Comfort: Foreshadow.

The story of Joseph is a wonderful foreshadow of the life of Jesus. After a lengthy imprisonment for a crime he did not commit, Joseph was called to serve Pharaoh. Pleased with Joseph’s service, Pharaoh exalted him to a high position of authority. When Joseph’s brothers later come to him for help, Joseph forgave them for their betrayal of him and saved their lives by providing the food they needed.

In these details, Joseph continues to foreshadow the Savior to come, who took the form of a slave, was crucified as a sacrifice for sins He did not commit, and was then raised from death. God the Father was “well-pleased” with Jesus (see Matt. 3:17) and exalted Him to the highest position of authority.

Words of Comfort: We know the future.

We know what the future holds for this sinful world. God has given the believer an understanding of the times in which we live. We know of the terrible fate of the ungodly, and we long for this people to listen to us and to believe the words we speak. They are not our thoughts or words, but are the words of the Living God, directly from the Word of God.

Words of Comfort: Guard your heart.

We can learn a lot from the story of Joseph. One big lesson is that Potiphar’s wife is still around. Her name is “Lust,” and she incessantly calls to every man to spend time with her. (First and Second Peter often speak of the sin of lust.) When she calls, do what Joseph wisely did: run (see v. 12). Flee fornication. Guard your eyes. It would be better to be blind than to let your eyes offend you. Guard your heart. Keep lust from entering your mind. How easy it would have been for Joseph to yield to temptation, but his salvation was the fear of the Lord.

Words of Comfort: Is God's patience inexhaustible?

Most people believe that God’s patience is inexhaustible. Gen. 38:7 shows that is not true. God lost patience with a rich man who said that he would build bigger barns and take life easy. He told the man that he was a fool and He took his life that night (see Luke 12:19–21). He also lost patience with a man and his wife when they told one lie, and killed them (see Acts 5:1–11). Such verses have a way of sobering us and bringing to us the most necessary virtues—the fear of the Lord.

Words of Comfort: Cancer of jealousy.

Fortify yourself with the love of God. It will be a shield against the sin of jealousy. When a brother or sister is praised and we are neglected, love will not notice. It is blind to the shallowness of the praise of man. If King Saul had loved David, he would have rejoiced when David was praised for his endeavors of war (see 1 Sam. 18:6–8). Instead, Saul allowed the cancer of jealousy to eat away at his soul. Hatred and murder were its bitter bedfellows.

Words of Comfort: Evidence for God's existence.

“Where is the evidence for God’s existence?” Waldon Yap

You are like a fish in the ocean wanting evidence for water. Evidence for the existence of the Creator is both intuitive and axiomatic. See Romans 1 for your motive and then Psalm 14:1 to see the mentality of those who pretend God doesn't exist.

Words of Comfort: Condoning rape?

I was speaking at UC Berkeley back in November of 2012, when an atheist stepped up to the open microphone and said that the God I believed in condoned rape. He pointed to Deuteronomy 22:28--29 where, according to him, if a man raped a woman all he had to do was pay a fine and then marry her. He was angry. This proved that the God of Christianity despised women and was therefore a tyrannical misogynist:

“If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found; then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his days.”

These verses don’t seem to be speaking of rape, because of the words “and if they be found,” which seems to mean that it was consensual.  If “they” were found is a reference to both of them being discovered, and that would then make the required dowry and betrothal make sense. This was similar to what we would nowadays call a “shotgun” (forced) wedding. Add to this thought that the previous verses speak clearly of rape (saying if the man “forces her”), and prescribes capital punishment to the rapist:
“But if a man finds a betrothed young woman in the countryside, and the man forces her and lies with her, then only the man who lay with her shall die” (Deuteronomy 22:25).

The death sentence for the rapist shows that God cares a great deal about women being validated. But the student didn’t seek out the truth, because he had no incentive to do so. He just wanted to find some dirt on the Judge.

Words of Comfort: Learning through painting.

I’m learning a lot through painting. First on the learning curve is that God is a million times more incredible that I even imagined. Likeness is amazing. It hides in the eyes. It lies in the tiny curve of a lip.

If I struggle to get a likeness, I leave it overnight and I’m amazed that the next day it’s as though I see it through different eyes. I can spot the problem is a second.

I wonder how many poor souls have taken their lives at night, when the darkness that surrounded them would have been seen differently in the light of morning.

The Christian is never in such darkness, because of the imputable promise of Romans 8:28. We must always keep that light shining. That wonderful promise transcends even death, so we look at everything in the light of eternity. Do that, and you will never be disappointed.

Words of Comfort: Planned Parenthood.

"Planned Parenthood is actually a wonderful resource center that offers more than just abortions. I assume you all know that by reading up on its history and purpose." Dave Cargo

Adolf Hitler restored German dignity, provided jobs for the unemployed, gave us the wonderful Volkswagen, and the autobahn. He didn't just kill Jews.

No doubt atheists will say that Hitler was a Christian. See my book, Hitler, God, and the Bible for his beliefs and for his contempt for Christianity.

Words of Comfort: Don't be deceived.

“Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites,  nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God” (1 Corinthians 6:9-10). See

Words of Comfort: Who was Jesus?

Who was Jesus of Nazareth?

Most don’t know this: “God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory” (1 Timothy 3:16)

Words of Comfort: Pro-life and the death penalty.

“Amazing how many pro-lifers support the death penalty.” Waldon Yap

This is because we greatly value human life. If you take someone's life, you should pay for it with your own.  You may believe that if someone rapes your mother and slits her throat, that he should be given bed and breakfast and free health care for the rest of his life. But some of us don't.  Remove the death sentence and murders will always increase drastically, because there is no fear of punishment. There have been around 180,000 human beings murdered just in the U.S. in the last 20 years. think of it, three super bowl stadiums of people like you and me have been murdered in our country in just 20 years.

Those who believe that capital punishment doesn't work need to realize that the person who was put to death will not be repeat offender. There is a qualification though.  Because our criminal system is so corrupt (with its crooked lawyers who only want to get a conviction, bad police who fake evidence, and judges who don't fear God), innocent people have been put on death row. This is just another bad fruit from a godless society.

The Bible says that no one should ever be put to death without two credible witnesses to the crime. There's the safety net.

Words of Comfort: Christianity isn't dead.

"I said to myself if Christianity is dead, I will sit at its tomb and will weep until it arises again, just as Mary Magdalene sat at the tomb of Jesus and wept until Jesus showed Himself. Then when I came out of prison I saw Christianity is not dead. The number of practicing Christians in Rumania according to the figures given by the Communists themselves in 20 years of Communist dictatorship  has grown 300 percent." -Richard Wurmbrand

Words of Comfort: You can't make them think!

"Anyone with a bit of common sense can tell Ray's video is just pure nonsense." Pat Conway

When “Evolution Vs. God” went up on YouTube, atheists were furious.  If it was “pure nonsense” they should have been happy because anyone with common sense would see that. But they weren’t, and there’s a good reason for their indignation.

I wrote a book once called, You Can Lead an Atheist to Evidence But You Can’t Make Him Think.  Atheists were furious about that too.  It knocked Richard Dawkin’s book, The God Delusion off the number one spot in a certain category on Amazon, and that sent them into a panic. About 200 of them collaborated (we uncovered their little conspiracy) and went onto and gave the book a low rating, so that it wouldn’t sell. They said to be careful not to give it one star and arouse suspicion. The reviews are still there if you wish to read about how the book is worse than finding dog hair in your sandwich.

But the title is true. Atheists don’t think. Let me tell you why I believe that. Let’s forget for a moment that they embrace the scientifically impossible, and just look at why they are angry about the movie.  It’s because if evolution isn’t true, the alternative is unthinkable. Firstly, it means that things are intelligently designed and that God is real. That means that sin and evil are realities, and that as moral created beings, we are accountable to Him, which means that a place of punishment must exist. It also means that the Bible is right when it says that the “soul” is the life that inhabits the human body, and that it’s eternal and leaves the body upon death.

But it gets even worse for the poor atheist. It means that the knuckle-dragging-lowlife-homophobic-fundamentalist-Bible-bashing-narrow-minded-anti-science-anti-choice-slave-loving-misoginistic-snake-talking believers are right. That’s a mortal blow to human pride.

But it gets even worse from there. It also means that the atheist will have to give up lust (horrors), pornography, fornication (double horrors) and even other sins that are morally offensive to God.  Here now is where the atheist doesn’t think. It also means that death has been destroyed by Jesus Christ, and that hopeless and helpless humanity can have everlasting life as a gift from God. It means that any repentant human being can avoid Hell and inherit Heaven simply by trusting Jesus. Watch the comments section now and see atheists gloss over the gravity of what I have just said, and prove my point.

Words of Comfort: Drier than a ten year-old peanut butter sandwich.

"I would start with Origin of Species and read the 1000+ books written on the topic since then. How many books prove God? Oh right, one."

You will read another thousand and not find proof for evolution. The whole belief rests on faith. I read every page of Origin of Species and it was drier than a ten year-old peanut butter sandwich. The Bible doesn't prove God. It doesn't need to. We know that God exists because of the incredible order of Nature and our God-given conscience. It is simply the Instruction Book for those who know Him.

Words of Comfort: Blind trust.

"Religion destroys cognitive thinking and replaces it with blind trust in lies intended only to control people. If mankind is to avoid untimely extinction, it has to mature past being willfully ignorant. That, my friends, is a cause worth fighting for on any front you can.”

You sound like some doom's day prophet, playing on people's fears. You have a concern that humanity will become extinct? What about evolution? It will fix everything. Relax. It did it without you once, and it can do it without you, once again.

Word of Comfort: A fly's brain.

"On TED it talks about the brain of a fly. Go look it up, it’s amazing. They compare the fly’s brain to a human brain. The fly’s brain is way more efficient than ours."

Proof of that is that there are people who think it wasn't the product of Intelligent Design.

Words of Comfort: My de-conversion.

“Keep up the good work, Ray! I myself can't thank you for being the reason for my de-conversion, but I'm sure there is plenty out there who can."

My life has been devoted to exposing the hypocrites in the Church, and, with the help of God, seeing them awakened to their delusional state. But there are still plenty of more false converts faking it and deceiving themselves. Let's hope they admit that they don't know the Lord, and repent and trust the Savior, before Judgment Day.

Words of Comfort: Does your wife exist?

“Is there any amount of evidence that could be provided to you that would make you not believe in the God of the Bible?”

Questions like this one show that atheists have no idea that Christians don’t merely believe that God exists. They know God (John 17:3). It’s like asking a newly married man, “Is there any evidence that I can give that would make you not believe that your wife exists?”

Words of Comfort: Blasphemy that doesn't count.

“You also need to remember that blasphemy only counts if you believe. Many non deists do not recognize blasphemy since they have nothing to blaspheme against.”

That’s like saying, “Judge, you need to remember that rape only counts if you believe it is rape. I don’t recognize rape.” It is amazing that anyone who purports to be intelligent would think that something doesn’t exist just because he or she doesn’t believe in it. If I don’t believe in the sun because it’s cloudy, it doesn’t disappear just because of my lack of belief.
