Words of Comfort: God's attention.

A man named Jairus once fell at the feet of Jesus, pleading with Him to save his 12 year-old who was on the brink of death. He had pushed through the crowds and for a moment had the attention of the Healer. But the Bible tells us that that a woman came up behind Jesus and touched His clothes. She had been ill for 12 years and had spent all her money on doctors, and got worse. But the moment she touched His clothes, she was healed. Jesus turned His attention from Jairus and said “Who touched Me?” When no one came forward, Peter said that the whole crowd was pushing in and touching Him.  Jesus replied, “Somebody touched Me, for I perceived power going out from Me.” That’s when the woman came forward and said she had been healed.

Have you ever felt (like Jairus)--that you don’t have God’s attention? His daughter was dying and it seemed that Jesus didn’t care. Then his situation became even worse. Someone arrived and said “Your daughter is dead.” But then something wonderful happened. You can read the entire story in Luke 8:40-56.
